Transportation Funding Awarded to 8 Marine Highway Projects

$12 million invested in expanding freight services along waterborne supply chains.

The Department of Transportation awarded $12 million in grants to eight projects dedicated to expanding freight services along America’s marine highways. These grants can be used to provide additional dock equipment to freight service ports across the country, nearly $5.8 million of which was specifically allocated to projects within historically disadvantaged communities.

“Our country has always relied on American waterways to get vital goods where they need to go,” said Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg. “Today, we are delivering new funding for eight marine highway projects across the country that will strengthen our supply chains, improve our ports, and help keep goods affordable for American families.”

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For Secretary Buttitigieg as he oversees the awarding of funds to strengthen the freight waterway infrastructure.
  • For Transportation Department officials as they review the projects that are most important to fund.
  • That the president and members of his administration seek God’s guidance regarding supply chain improvements.
